Paul Max EdlinComposer | Artistic Director | Lecturer | Performer

Paul has just completed a new work for recorder sextet, commissioned by the UK Society of Recorder Players. ‘Quattuor Musicae’ is scored for treble, 2 tenor, bass, great bass and contrabass recorders. It bases its ideas on music from the Rennaisance and while it is designed to be played by ensembles of Grade 5/6 and above, it makes no compromises in terms of musical ambition. There are four movements: In Nomine, Pavan, Aria and Hocket. The complete work lasts approximately 10 to 12 minutes. ‘Quattuor Musicae’ will receive its first performance later this year, to be given by the Cambridge based ensemble Zero Gravity.
